What is the AAIF?
1.

The AAIF is an advocacy organization whose

main objective is the advancement of the

architecture profession through assistance to

the State in

 policy formulation

(laws, rules/

regulations, guidelines, standards, etc.); and 2.

The AAIF fully

advocates the rule of law

as the same applies to the

 practice

of the State

regulated profession of architecture on

Philippine soil, including the application of

pertinent physical planning & building laws.

 AAIF Origins

:
1.

The eight (8) Founding Trustees of the AAIF

came from the nine (9)

member 2000

2002 UAP Committee on Legislation and Codes

(CLC) then chaired by

The AAIF was created in 2002 when it became quite apparent that the APO for Architects

may NOT actually be 100% for architecture

advocacy; and 3.

With its creation, the AAIF decided to make

the Philippine Senate its primary focus

Major Actions of AAIF Over the Years

:
1.2002

AAIF succeeded in its effort to have the

first Senate bill

on the repeal of the architecture law

(R.A. No. 545, as amended by R.A. No. 1581),

eventually filed by Sen. Magsaysay, Jr.; the AAIF

approached seven (7) Senators for the bill; 2.

2003

AAIF succeeded in its effort to have a second Senate bill

on architecture, eventually filed

by Sen. Pimentel; AAIF lobbied hard for the bill in

late 2003 (i.e. by attending TWG meetings,

Committee hearings and floor deliberations on the

bill for 3 weeks); the bill was eventually approved;
