ALLI    ,   apec    ar    2013 AAIF President  s 1   A.   What is the AAIF?  1.   The AAIF is an advocacy organization whose   main objective is the advancement of the   architecture profession through assistance to   the State in    policy formulation   (laws, rules/   regulations, guidelines, standards, etc.); and 2.   The AAIF fully   advocates the rule of law    as the same applies to the    practice   of the State   - regulated profession of architecture on   Philippine soil, including the application of    pertinent physical planning & building laws.    AAIF and Its Accomplishments   Over the Last 11 Years (2002   -    2013)   ,   26 October 2012  s 2   B.    AAIF Origins   : 1.   The eight (8) Founding Trustees of the AAIF   came from the nine (9)   -    member 2000    -    2002 UAP Committee on Legislation and Codes   (CLC) then chaired by    Ar    Greg   Timbol    II;2.   The AAIF was created in 2002 when it became quite apparent that the APO for Architects   may NOT actually be 100% for architecture   advocacy; and 3.   With its creation, the AAIF decided to make   the Philippine Senate its primary focus   ;  AAIF and Its Accomplishments   Over the Last 11 Years (2002   -    2013)   ,   26 October 2012  s 3  C1.   Major Actions of AAIF Over the Years   : 1.2002   -     AAIF succeeded in its effort to have the   first Senate bill    on the repeal of the architecture law   (R.A. No. 545, as amended by R.A. No. 1581),   eventually filed by Sen. Magsaysay, Jr.; the AAIF   approached seven (7) Senators for the bill; 2.   2003   -     AAIF succeeded in its effort to have a second Senate bill    on architecture, eventually filed   by Sen. Pimentel; AAIF lobbied hard for the bill in   late 2003 (i.e. by attending TWG meetings,   Committee hearings and floor deliberations on the   bill for 3 weeks); the bill was eventually approved; s 4  AAIF and Its Accomplishments   Over the Last 11 Years (2002   -    2013)   ,   26 October 2012
